India vs Australia, 2nd ODI in Melbourne: Rohit Sharma gets sixth ODI ton

Rohit Sharma has reached his sixth One-Day International (ODI) century. This is also his third ODI ton against Australia. He achieved the milestone during the second ODI against Australia in the tri-series. Rohit had opened the batting and has kept India on course to a good total. This has been a very classy innings.
This is Rohit’s first century in Australia and has come as a good relief to him in the light of the tough time in the Test matches. He has scored ODI tons in Zimbabwe and India. Thus, this is a new territory conquered by him. India had lost wickets early and since then, Rohit has batted very well and had Suresh Raina for company. Raina was dismissed for 51.
Earlier, MS Dhoni had won the toss and elected to bat first. The only change in the Australian team was that Gurinder Sandhu has walked in place of Xavier Doherty. Sandhu is the first man of Indian origin to play for Australia. India did not field Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. Akshar Patel is in there for Jadeja.
